Why Daikin Split Systems Are a Smart Choice for Your Home

Why Daikin Split Systems Are a Smart Choice for Your Home

When it comes to choosing the right air conditioning system, comfort, energy efficiency, and reliability are at the top of the list.

Among the many options available, Daikin Split Systems stand out as a top choice for both homeowners and businesses. Known globally as a leader in heating and cooling solutions, Daikin has built a reputation for innovative technology, durability, and superior indoor comfort.

What is a Split System?

A split system air conditioner is designed with two main components:

Indoor Unit: Mounted inside the home or office to deliver cool or warm air.

Outdoor Unit: Installed outside, it houses the compressor and condenser to manage the system’s cooling and heating functions.

This design allows for quiet operation, efficient performance, and greater flexibility compared to traditional central air systems.

Why Choose a Daikin Split System?

1. Energy Efficiency

Daikin split systems are engineered with advanced inverter technology, which allows the system to adjust its output based on demand rather than cycling on and off. This means less wasted energy, lower electricity bills, and more consistent comfort throughout the day.

2. Reliable Performance

Daikin is one of the most trusted brands in the HVAC industry. Their systems are built for longevity, backed by rigorous testing and high-quality components. Customers benefit from years of dependable comfort, even in challenging climates.

3. Whisper-Quiet Operation

Unlike bulky traditional systems, Daikin split systems operate quietly, making them ideal for bedrooms, offices, and living spaces. You’ll enjoy a comfortable indoor environment without the constant hum of

Is your air conditioning making scary noises?

Is your air conditioning making scary noises?

Spooky season is upon us, but those scary noises coming from your AC aren’t ghosts.

In fact, we can safely rule out ghosts, goblins, and even gremlins, but that doesn’t mean those noises aren’t a sign of trouble, so we wanted to arm you with a ”Scary AC Noise to English” dictionary for your reference

Screeching

If it sounds like your air conditioner is screaming when it runs, you might have a damaged or slipped fan belt. Another possibility is a moving part that’s insufficiently lubricated. In that case, what you’re hearing is the sound of excessive friction.

Clanging

If you hear clanging or banging, it could be a component that’s come loose. Running the system with a loose component can damage the component, as well as whatever it’s banging against.

Clicking

If you’re hearing a clicking sound , it’s probably a failing electrical component or a failing capacitor.

Hissing

If your air conditioner is hissing, you probably have a refrigerant leak.

Any one of these sounds is a reason to schedule a service call, and all of them should be addressed before a little problem becomes a big expense so, if you live in Broward or Palm Beach, and your AC is making scary noises, who you gonna call?

Yeah, you know what comes next. Call All-Pro Electrical and Air Conditioning at (561) 988-0460.

When is “cheap” a red flag

When is “cheap” a red flag

We get it. Times are tough, and we all want to save a buck. And sometimes, the cheapest option is, well – good enough. Other times – it’s a RED FLAG you should heed!!!

When it comes to repairing, installing, or maintaining today’s high-tech electrical and HVAC equipment, those low-ball estimates will often backfire. Low costs are simply not consistent with high-quality work or premium products.

At All-Pro Electrical and Air Conditioning, we are state licensed and insured, with an ongoing training program for all our technicians, and that doesn’t come cheap, but you can be sure that your job will get done right - the first time.

Hiring an unlicensed contractor may seem like the cheap way out, but repairs and installations performed by unlicensed contractors void warranties and hiring an unlicensed contractor can result in a civil penalty of up to $5,000 – plus court costs!

Inexpensive tune up specials, like any other “too good to be true” offer, are a tactic that is commonly used by unscrupulous contractors to get their foot in your door, so they can strong arm you into buying unnecessary parts and services.

Having saved a few dollars in the short run will bring you no comfort if it shortens the life of your HVAC equipment, and cutting corners can have catastrophic consequences.

All-pro Electrical and Air Conditioning isn’t always the cheapest option – in the short term, but we are always the best investment. That’s why we’re trusted by more of your

Fight Indoor Pollution!

Fight Indoor Pollution!

Think air pollution is just an outdoor problem? Think again!

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) studies suggest that pollutant levels inside your home can be 2 to 5 times higher than outdoor levels and common indoor pollutants, including biological contaminants (e.g., bacteria, viruses, animal dander, cat saliva, dust mites, cockroaches, and pollen), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), carbon monoxide (CO), radon (RN), and secondhand smoke, have all been linked to negative health outcomes from allergies and asthma to lung cancer and heart disease.

What’s more, the EPA estimates that Americans spend as much as 90% of their time indoors, making Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) an area of great concern across the country. In fact, IAQ is now the second highest HVAC priority for homeowners, behind energy efficiency.
Many homeowners have tried to mitigate indoor air pollution with portable filtration systems, but these measures cannot provide the health and comfort benefits of a whole-home solutions.

If you’re concerned about the air inside your home, ask yourself…

  • Do you have hot or cold spots inside your home?
  • Do you or any of your family members suffer from indoor allergies?
  • Does your home feel too dry or too humid from time to time?
  • Do you notice a lot of dust inside your home?
  • Do you have indoor pets?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, call 561-988-0460 and let our IAQ Experts guide you towards the best solution for your needs.

Comparing Apples to Oranges

Comparing Apples to Oranges

Are you in the market for a new AC system?

When purchasing a big-ticket item, like a new Air Conditioning system, it’s a good idea to get a few quotes, but make sure you’re comparing “apples to apples” and not just going with the lowest bidder. In most cases, you get what you pay for!

Lowering the bottom-line by cutting corners is easy (dishonest, but easy). It's important to know what’s included (and what isn’t) and who you’re trusting with this big investment.

All-Pro does not provide ballpark “guesstimates”, we take the time to come to your home or business, consider your requirements, and provide you with an honest, professional estimate.

Keep in mind that, you’re not just buying a piece of equipment, you’re choosing the best company to complete the installation, correctly (and safely) - the first time.

As your air conditioning runs off electricity, it shouldn't come as a surprise that it should be installed by a trained professional, most HVAC technicians are not cross-trained in electrics so they can’t diagnose and repair electrical issues.

An inexperienced installer can be a disaster (literally) and an unlicensed contractor will void the manufacturer’s warranty. Your peace of mind is just not worth the few dollars you might save by using a jack-of-all-trades or a friend of a friend.

With All-Pro, you get 10 YEARS OF WORRY-FREE COMFORT with every installation, including:

  • A Waterproof Exterior Shut Off, for safety. We’re able to provide this service because we are licensed electrical HVAC contractors

2021 Hurricane Season

2021 Hurricane Season

Living in Florida, you probably are used to preparing for bad weather, but is preparing your Air Conditioning System part of that routine?

According to forecasters with NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center, the 2021 Atlantic hurricane season, which runs from June 1 through November 30, is expected to be an “above normal” season with 13 to 20 named storms, including 3 to 5 major hurricanes (category 3, 4 or 5; with winds of 111 mph or higher).

These tips will keep you comfortable and your AC protected in the event of a hurricane:

Clear and Cover

Prior to the storm, bring in any outdoor tables, chairs or other items that could become airborne and cause damage to the AC System. You can even cover the outside unit with a tarp in order to keep it free from flying leaves, dirt and other debris, but make sure to remove the covering before you turn the unit back on!

Cool Down Your House

Before the threat of the storm is imminent, try cooling your house as much as possible so you are comfortable for a while after you turn off your AC System.

Turn Off the Power

Nearly 90% of all electrical system damage occurs when the AC is left on during a thunderstorm or hurricane. You may have to tolerate a bit of heat and humidity when you turn off your AC but leaving it on could cost you thousands of dollars in repairs.

Wait 20 Minutes

Keep the AC off until

Forgetting To Change Your Filter Puts A Strain On Your Air Conditioning And Can Shorten Its Lifetime!

80% of breakdowns are as a result of a dirty filter

Wet, dark conditions provide the perfect environment for the growth of microorganisms. The slime grows quickly, left untreated multiple issues are quickly created as bacteria loves dust! As dirt accumulates on the filter, air can't pass, the motor has to work harder. As the slime grows it will completely block the condensate line, causing the pan to overflow and the air conditioning will break down.

Dirty air filters affect the air quality and can exacerbate symptoms if anyone in your family suffers from allergies or asthma. If you have a pet, dander accumulates in the system and then spreads allergens throughout the household. White slime will be found in in the drain line, evaporator pan and condensate pump.

Did You Know?

During the hot humid summer months it is normal for your Air Conditioning system to drain up to 30 gallons of water outside of your house per day.

As your Air Conditioning is cooling your home it is also dehumidifying, humidity is the water vapor in the air, your Air Conditioning pulls the water out of the humid air and dispels it outside.

Some systems require the addition of an extra pump to help pump the water out, especially when there could be sediment in underground piping.

6 Home Features That Cut Energy Use

The move toward passive heating and cooling is growing.

It saves money and reduces greenhouse gases. Here are some ways to cut down on heat gains and losses from your home:

Insulation

Insulation slows down heat flow. In winter this means less heat escapes and in summer, it keeps your air conditioner from working overtime. In both cases, you have smaller equipment to worry about when building or replacing. Upgrading insulation is a sure-fire way to cut your energy use.

Proper sealing

If air leaks in around windows and doors, you undo everything your insulation does. Known as infiltration, this air carries moisture in summer and low temperatures in winter, taxing your equipment and wasting energy. Sealing off these locations is a fairly cheap way to cut back on your energy bills.

Window locations

In the northern hemisphere, the sun in winter sun shines from the south. The opposite is true for the southern hemisphere. Having large windows face the winter sun allows for sunlight to heat up those rooms, reducing your heating load. The downside is that more heat is lost through these windows at night and on cloudy days.

Window treatments

Curtains and blinds can reduce heat gain and loss depending on their insulative value. Blocking out the sun in summer keeps the space cool even if you have no shading from outside. Trees and foliage outside your window also reduce heat gain in the summer. If you pick the right trees that lose their leaves in winter,

AC FAQ: What Is an Evaporator Coil?

We are no strangers to residential air conditioning systems in this part of the country. In fact, the very notion of living without a reliable whole-house cooling system is something that most of us wouldn't even entertain for a moment.

We are no strangers to residential air conditioning systems in this part of the country. In fact, the very notion of living without a reliable whole-house cooling system is something that most of us wouldn't even entertain for a moment. Despite our familiarity with the comfort that our air conditioners allow for, though, many homeowners in the area don't really understand how that comfort is made possible.

There are a number of different components in any whole-house air conditioning system, and each plays an important role in the cooling process. Among the most vital of these components is the evaporator coil. Read on to lean more about what this coil does for your AC in Parkland, FL.

Evaporation and Heat Transfer

As you probably know, your air conditioner doesn't exactly generate cool air. Instead, it manages to cool your home by removing heat from the air that is already in your home. To do this, the evaporation of refrigerant is necessary. This evaporation takes place, appropriately enough, in the evaporator coil. This coil is located within the indoor air conditioning unit. The cool refrigerant in the coil evaporates as it absorbs heat from the air passing over and surrounding it. Remember, heat is always going to try to balance temperatures, and

AC Tip: The Importance of the Condensate Drain Line

You've probably seen us talk about the condensate drain line on this blog before. It is an important part of any air conditioning system, and one that can potentially lead to serious operational problems if not kept in great working condition.

You've probably seen us talk about the condensate drain line on this blog before. It is an important part of any air conditioning system, and one that can potentially lead to serious operational problems if not kept in great working condition. That is why it is so important that you have an understanding of the trouble that it can lead to. Maintaining a condensate drain line is not complex. You don't need to be a professional to ensure that the drain line is free of clogs and debris. Read on to learn more about the adverse effects of a backed up drain line, and contact us with any questions that you may have.

Water Damage and Icing

We won't talk too much about the damage that backed up condensate can cause in your home, as we've discussed it before. If the drain line backs up, it can cause water to pool around your AC. That can lead to staining, wood rot, and may even promote the growth and proliferation of biological pollutants. One issue that we have not touched upon, though, is the fact that backed up condensation can actually lead to ice developing on your home cooling system. When that happens, a downward spiral of sorts can be

Why Use a Hard Start Kit?

You probably know that your air conditioner is going to use the most energy when it is just starting up, as opposed to when it is just running continuously. That is why short cycling, in which the system starts and stops too frequently, is such a problem.

You probably know that your air conditioner is going to use the most energy when it is just starting up, as opposed to when it is just running continuously. That is why short cycling, in which the system starts and stops too frequently, is such a problem. Starting the AC up over and over again not only wastes energy, but it also puts a lot of unnecessary strain on the compressor. This is due to the fact that the AC has to get the everything up and running and the refrigerant moving from a full stop each time it starts up. In fact, your AC may use anywhere from 5-10x as much power when starting up as it does when it is running. Using a hard start kit can greatly benefit your air conditioner in Highland Beach, FL.

How Does a Hard Start Kit Work?

A hard start kit cannot eliminate the power surge that your air conditioner will experience when first starting up. What it can do, though, is greatly cut down on the amount of time that it takes for your compressor to get up and running. Many kits can cut this startup time in half, which really adds up over

You've heard it said time and time again; you must schedule routine air conditioning tune-ups. At some point, though, you've undoubtedly wondered just how it is that professional air conditioning maintenance in Parkland, FL actually benefits you. We'll give you a few examples to help you better understand just why it is that regular air conditioner tune-ups are so necessary. Improved energy efficiency is one of the greatest ways in which scheduling routine air conditioning maintenance can benefit you. How Long Should My Refrigerant Last?

The answer to the question posed in the title is: as long as your AC does, ideally! That's right, your air conditioner should not be losing any refrigerant at all.

The answer to the question posed in the title is: as long as your AC does, ideally! That's right, your air conditioner should not be losing any refrigerant at all. Why not? Because unlike fuels such as gas or propane, refrigerant is not consumed. It is recycled over and over again, running through what ought to be a closed system. If you have a low refrigerant level, it means that your refrigerant either was not charged to the right level, or that you have a leak somewhere in your system. The Parkland, FL air conditioning experts on our staff will determine what the issue is.

Why Is a Leak a Problem, and How Can I Spot One?

Your air conditioner is manufactured to work with a certain amount of refrigerant. If your refrigerant levels are low, then you run the risk of a subpar cooling performance. Refrigerant is evaporated in your evaporator coil. If there is not enough refrigerant therein, then your system is going to struggle to remove a sufficient amount of heat from the air passing over that coil. This can result in warm air blowing from your vents. Not only that, but it can also result in the icing over of your evaporator coil. This is very problematic, as it insulates the coil and will further impede

We depend upon our air conditioning systems far too much in this part of the country to allow them to work at subpar energy efficiency levels. Of course, the more you use your air conditioner, the more you are going to be paying in energy costs. Even so, though, you should have a general idea of how much you pay to cool your home throughout a billing cycle, especially if you've been in your home for a number of years. If your utility bills come in and you are shocked by what you see, your air conditioner in Boca Raton, FL may be failing to operate with the level of efficiency that it normally does.

Lack of Maintenance

The best thing that you can do for your air conditioning system in general is to schedule routine air conditioning maintenance with a professional technician. When you have your air conditioner tuned up on a regular basis, you ensure that every component within that system is in fine working order. Only then can you hope for your air conditioner to function at peak performance and efficiency levels. The fact of the matter is that a poorly maintained air conditioner is not only going to give you

Chances are that you don’t really give much thought to the many different components within your air conditioning system that make its performance possible. There are a lot of unsung heroes in your air conditioning system, though, and the capacitors therein are among the most important.

What Are Capacitors?

A capacitor is a device that is used to store an electric charge. There are often 2 different types of capacitors in any given air conditioning system, though there are capacitors that serve a dual role, as well. These are known as the start capacitor and the run capacitor. A start capacitor, as the name implies, comes into play when your air conditioner is first starting up its cycle. It basically provides your AC with an extra boost to get it going, as your air conditioner is using the most energy when it is starting up. With the extra torque that the start capacitor allows
