Signs That You Need an Air Purifier

There are a lot of signs that you may notice which can indicate the need for an air purifier in your home. Perhaps you find that your home is getting dusty very quickly, though you do your best to keep on top of cleaning. Your allergy and/or asthma symptoms may get much worse, or you may find that your HVAC air filter is frequently clogging. Any signs of mold should also tip you off to the fact that an air purifier is necessary. This brings us to our next point, though: you must use the right air purifier for the job.

Using the Right Tools

An electronic air purifier will generally charge pollutants in the air within an ionization chamber. Those pollutants are then trapped on oppositely charged collector plates, or may just be allowed to adhere to surfaces throughout the home, from which they are easily removed during routine cleaning. If you have any issues with mold, though, it is not enough to simply trap the spores: you must destroy them. To do so, you'll need a UV air purifier. UV air purifiers are a good supplement to filtration or electronic purification options, but they are not a replacement for them.
